| Chess is a ladder format. More information will emailed to participants as the date for challenges draws near. Ladder format essentially means that you will play another participant at your convenience and availability. All standard rules will apply. All rules are governed by the participants of that particular match as all matches will be unsupervised. Here are some guidelines to go by but again, all rules can be game specific as long as the players agree upon them. A draw is called when 50 moves have been made by both colors when only a king stands. No castle switches and the multiple queen rule is adhered to. I also would not like to have games go for multiple hours, so try to keep games under a reasonable time frame (1-2 hours would be ideal but I know this can be hard at times so again, this is up to you). All chess boards can be checked out at the coop fountain. Games can be played anywhere students agree providing they have alternate boards to use. Good Luck! |
